About Campus Conversations

Transforming diversity into unity through dialogue, leadership, and peacebuilding

Our Mission

Campus Conversations™ is a youth-driven peacebuilding programme designed to turn diversity into unity. We equip students with practical tools to navigate differences, resolve conflicts, and promote harmony across cultural, ethnic, religious, and social lines.

About the Initiative

A comprehensive approach to building peace leadership on Nigerian campuses

🎯 What We Do

Through structured dialogue, leadership training, and campus engagement, participants gain the skills, confidence, and networks to lead meaningful intercultural conversations where they matter most — on campus. By combining training, dialogue hubs, and national convenings, the programme nurtures a new generation of student leaders committed to peace, empathy, and collaboration.

🌟 Why It Matters

Nigeria's rich cultural diversity is a source of strength, but it also presents challenges in fostering unity and understanding. Campus Conversations™ addresses this by creating safe spaces for students from different backgrounds to engage in honest dialogue, challenge stereotypes, and build lasting relationships that transcend differences.

💡 Our Approach

We believe that sustainable peace begins with individuals who are equipped with the right skills and mindset. Our three-phase approach—training, campus hubs, and national summit—ensures that participants not only learn about peacebuilding but actively practice and champion it in their communities.

Programme Structure

A strategic three-phase journey to peace leadership

Phase 1: Training & Selection

1-Week Virtual Dialogue Programme

50 selected students participate in an intensive virtual training covering:

  • Fundamentals of peacebuilding and conflict resolution
  • Dialogue facilitation techniques
  • Intercultural communication skills
  • Leadership development

1-Day In-Person Bootcamp

25 outstanding participants advance to an intensive in-person bootcamp for advanced training and practical exercises.

Phase 2: Campus Dialogue Hubs

6 Dialogue Hubs established across Nigeria's geopolitical zones:

  • North Central
  • North East
  • North West
  • South East
  • South South
  • South West

Each hub hosts regular peace forums, storytelling sessions, and student-led intercultural conversations.

Phase 3: National Peace Summit

A grand convening bringing together:

  • Student leaders and youth activists
  • Policymakers and government representatives
  • Civil society actors and NGOs
  • Peace practitioners and academics

Objectives: Showcase campus dialogue outcomes, share best practices, and generate actionable peace solutions for national implementation.
